You need deodorant and shampoo. This time you will be quick. In and out. Hmm, yeah. Don't kid yourself. The minute you walk through that door, your eyes veer to the women's clothing section and it's as though your body is a magnet and the clothes have a magnetic field around them pulling you closer and closer. Don't fret. It happens to the best of us. Luckily for me, I have (moderate) impulse control so the most I do is walk around and gawk at all the lovely and affordable clothing. That does leave a longing in the heart. Thus I have a very long list of things I am lusting for. This week is all about the tempting delight: Target. Happy shopping!

My July and August have been very eventful. Between working part time from home as maternity leave and taking care of my newborn, I've hardly had time to get dressed, much less wear any makeup. Don't kid yourself, though. On those occasions where Eden is well behaved and/or I babywear her in order to get stuff done around the house, I do take advantage of the time and get dolled up to a certain extent. It's an easy routine as of late: foundation, concealer, blush, highlight, set, lip color and bam. Done. Yet I still feel human even though I don't get a chance to go all out. Considering my short routine, I decided to devote my favorites of the current few months to those products that have been my ride or die necessities lately.

Urban Decay Naked Skin Concealer

I don't mean to brag (ok maybe I do), but the hubs got me a gift card to Sephora for my birthday. He just knows the way to my heart. With that gift card I got a few things and this happened to be one of them. I decided to go with the smaller size to ensure I love the product and it was a success. When I run out of this you can bet that I'll be repurchasing. This concealer is lightweight and when I set it, it does not settle into my fine lines as much as most concealers. The color match is a perfect neutral which works wonderfully for my light to medium olive complexion. It works well with a routine on the more natural side of things although if you are a full face kind of girl, it is definitely buildable to give you more coverage. It also hides blemishes amazingly with very little product which is rare for something so lightweight.

Becca Ultimate Coverage Complexion Crème

Another item I purchased with my wonderful giftcard was this foundation. It is a very high coverage foundation which hides every imperfection you want to hide. Even though it is full coverage, I still feel like nothing is on my skin besides moisturizer. The finish is natural which helps it from looking too cakey on your skin. Since giving birth, my skin has been more normal to dry (eek, who would have thought?! I never knew dry skin could be so itchy), I've been more into natural finish and/or dewier foundations as opposed to my usual mattes. A little bit goes a long way with this foundation. I can cover my whole face with just one pump.It dries rather quickly so you have to take that into consideration when applying.

e.l.f. Moisturizing Lipstick in Pink Minx

It's no secret that e.l.f. has amazing products for the price point and this lipstick is one of them. I'm a pink lips kind of girl so of course I'm in love with this lip color. The name says it all; it definitely is moisturizing on the lips, but does not slip and slide all over and lasts for a reasonable amount of time. It is also very pigmented so you're getting great color pay off for a $3 lipstick.

NYX Butter Gloss in Creme Brulee

Everyone raves about these butter glosses and I can totally understand why. Though the pigmentation is a bit lacking in comparison to some lip glosses that cost a bit more, the comfort is what makes this lip gloss great. It is sticky upon application, but the tackiness goes away after a few minutes of wear. Wear time is decent for a lip gloss. I just love using this in combination with the above e.l.f. lipstick. The two paired together make the perfect pink pout.

Benefit Watt's Up! Cream-to-Powder Highlighter

Because I've been into more of a simple makeup routine lately, this highlighter is as simple as it gets. Depending on how much you apply and how you apply it, it can either be va-va-voom or the subtle glow you've been looking for. If I apply directly to the skin, it's va-va-voom. If I apply it onto a beauty blender or blend it out with a beauty blender, it's much more subtle. I've gone a full 8 hours of sweat, tears and spit up with this highlighter still remaining in place.

MAC Mineralized Skin Finish in Soft & Gentle

Now because I'm extreme, I top off the Watts Up! highlighter with this Mineralized Skin Finish from MAC. I only do this on days where I want to feel a bit more glam and a bit more like Kim Kardashian. Using that method, I can get an extra few hours of wear with my highlight. Even on its own it looks stunning. Some days when I set my makeup and forget to apply the cream highlight, I just wear this.

e.l.f. Blush Palette

Again, e.l.f. rarely does any wrong. This blush palette is versatile and perfect for someone like me who isn't crazy into blushes. Depending on the look, I wear one or mix two together. Although blush is the first thing to fade upon my face during the day, this blush gives me about 4 hours of wear time before it disappears which is longer than most blushes especially those from the drugstore.

Garnier SkinActive Micellar Cleansing Water & Makeup Remover

After a long day, the first thing I want to do is take my makeup off especially because if I don't, I wake up with ten million mountains on my face. Before I hop into the shower, I take off all of my makeup with this cleansing water. It has been the best one I've tried. I do have to go over areas more than once to get off all of the makeup, but it does a great job at lifing the impurities once thoroughly cleaned. It doesn't dry out my skin and actually feels really refreshing.

Cerave Foaming Facial Cleanser

Despite the changes my skin has gone through postpartum, this cleanser works best with my skin to help prevent and cure my break outs. My go-to cleansers have always been with salicylic acid, but now that my skin is drier, cleansers with that ingredient make the driness worse. Using this cleanser keeps my skin moist thanks to the hyaluronic acid and ceramides and keeps most of my breakouts at bay.

Cerave Moisturizing Cream

Being that my skin is so ridiculously dry at points during the day, this moisturizer has saved me. It's lightweight and doesn't leave my face feeling greasy like most moisturizers I've used in the past. It absorbs quickly into my skin which helps when trying to complete a fast routine to get back to taking care of the babe. My skin has been softer since using this moisturizer and it certainly aids the dryness that is so terribly uncomfortable.

What have been your favorite beauty products in your current routine?

36 weeks, 5 days. Baby is the size of a Chihuahua and I look like I ate a Chihuahua. I also function like I did meaning I can barely function at all. My feet feel like balloons and bending down is nearly impossible. I have my hubby to thank for doing all of the work with baby girl's nursery. I hung up a few of the pictures, but mostly nodded or shook my head at the placement of things while he did all of the hard work. Before this was just a guest room that needed improvements like putting the blinds inside of the window frames, touching up the white paint, a built-in closet. Now this is the perfect nursery that reflects both his and I's taste and a place for our baby girl to rest her little head.

Summertime is steadily approaching unless you live in one of the states where it's almost always summer year round like I do. In that case, summer has been here for months. Chances are very likely that you've been having some fun in the sun, and if not, soon you will have your time to get those rays into your skin. The real question is: have you been or are you ready to be stylish with your suit? Have no fear, Sofia is here with the chic bathing suits you need this summer.

When it comes to bathing suits, I like affordable options especially because trends come and go and I'm a fan of having suits on trend. I like to rock any type of bathing suit whether it's the classic triangle top or a bandeau to avoid the tan lines. Check out my favorite picks for bathing suits this summer below.

5 Bathing Suits You Need This Summer

Crisscross Halter Top & Low-Rise Bikini Bottoms from Forever 21

Halter top bikinis are great for any kind of bust. If you're on the smaller side, it can certainly give you the appearance of va-va-voom boobs and if you're on the bigger side, it can keep your girls tight and in line. My favorite types of halter top bikinis are the non-traditional kind like the one shown above. The style gives you a bit more of an edge and being chicness to what could be a boring, overdone bikini.

Kendall & Kylie High Neck Strappy Cropped Bikini Top & Thick Strap Low Rise Bikini Bottom

High Neck

High neck bikini tops are a little harder for women of a bigger bust to wear, but for those with a bust on the smaller size, high neck bathing suits are great. Sure, your tan line may be a little wonky especially if you're the type to wear low cut shirts, but at least you'll look fab lounging by the pool!

LA Hearts Mesh Overlay Fixed Triangle Bikini Top & Mesh Inset Skimpy Bikini Bottom

Triangle bikini tops are the safest bet for any bust. On the plus side, they are the most comfortable as well. You can have the option of a fixed top (such as the one shown above) or you can get a triangle top that slides along the bottom string for adjustable coverage.
The Print-mix Strappy Bandeau & The Strappy High-waist Cheeky from Victoria's Secret

Bandeau tops are great for one reason: no straps = no tan lines. They generally aren't great if you plan to be active instead of lounging around because, well, no one wants a nip slip. Another thing about bandeaus is that they're generally for the smaller bust type of woman.

Mesh One-Shoulder One Piece from Forever 21

One Piece

One pieces are no longer the bathing suit your mom wears. In fact, they've made a huge comeback the last few years with pieces like the one above adding flair and chicness to the once dreaded bathing suit. If you're a little more self conscious, a one piece is a great way to keep your chic and your comfort. Best of all: they're great for any body type.

What type of bathing suit do you plan to rock this summer?

I recently traveled to my hometown for my baby shower hosted by my sister and my mom. Of course I decided to show you guys what I packed for the three day weekend. Fair warning, it is a bit excessive, but a girl has got to have her options. Besides, we were traveling by car so I wasn't concerned about over-packing too much.

The makeup I decided to wear for my baby shower turned out to be a bit different than what I had planned. I went with NYX Liquid Suede Lipstick in Tea & Cookies, a winged eye and some falsies. I kept it light on the contouring, but did go a bit overboard with the highlight (can you blame me? Champagne Pop is gorg!)

If you're interested in what I packed, here you go!

In honor of my one year anniversary with my blog (both yay! for the achievement of reaching one year and meh for not being as consistent with it as I wanted to be), I decided to start a new series.

I'm almost positive everyone who stumbles across this is a faithful watcher of the YouTube beauty community. We binge-watch our favorite beauty gurus as tons of videos flood our subscription page on a daily basis. It can be overwhelming watching them all.

Fear no more! I am here to break down what I think are potentially great finds by YouTube beauty gurus. What I mean by potentially is that they gave me enough explanation as to why I need this product in my life that I would actually spend my money on it as opposed to "I love this. This is great." Please keep in mind that what I may think is a great buy may not work for you because when I write this, I'm writing this from an oily, acne-prone girl's perspective. Should you have skin that differs from mine, I would recommend getting samples of said products before diving into a purchase.

Without further ado, I bring to you my top recommendations worth trying as seen on YouTube.

Clinique's Beyond Perfecting Foundation + Concealer
Nicole Guerriero has been pimping out this foundation like it's the greatest thing since sliced bread. She swears by it lately, using it in a ton of tutorials, and continuously reaffirming to her viewers that she can't get enough of it because it is just that good. Being an oily skin girl with large pores myself, I cannot wait to purchase this. I will say that in anticipation of purchasing this product, I went and got color matched at  Macy's and judging by the colors they offer, this foundation seems like a dream come true for fair-skinned, olive-toned girls. I didn't test it too much, but for the hour I did, it was flawless. A little bit goes a long way and it really seems like a foundation that'll last without breaking you out at the end of the day.
